The 22nd season of Survivor may have at least one cast member who’s even more well-known than returning cast members Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano: Carrie Prejean.She’s the Miss USA 2009 contestant best known for answering pageant judge Perez Hilton’s question about same-sex marriage by saying marriage shouldn’t include same-sex couples, and for later having her contract terminated by Donald Trump’s organization, reportedly because of a sex tape. She subsequently wrote a book called Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks.
That’s according to a report at Survivor Sucks, which also says there is a second, less-famous beauty queen on season 22 also. If true, Prejean’s casting would follow rambling beauty pageant Caite Upton’s appearance on The Amazing Race last season.
Season 22’s big twist is Redemption Island, and although this kind of stunt casting is atypical but increasingly part of Survivor, giving her a chance at redemption via the show makes a tiny bit of sense, though it could just be a coincidence.
